Passed away peacefully in Townsville, Qld on the 7th December 2009 after a short illness. Loved partner of Annette and father of Matthew, Kate, Ricky and Rachael (dec). Loved Husband for 25 years and friend for 50 years of Eileen. Respected foster father of Theresa, Maria, John, Angela and Ruku. Loved by extended family and friends in New Zealand, Papua New Guinea and Australia. An adventerous sailor gone to far seas. All John's relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend his Funeral Service which will be held at St John's Anglican Church, 179 Lake Street, Cairns on Monday 14th December 2009, commencing at 2pm. There will be no Funeral Cortege. |

As a youngster growing up in PNG I was very fortunate to have Sutts as a surrogate Uncle. His quick wit, kind heart, love of the sea and immense wisdom was shared with all that knew him. Just over 10 years ago he was the Master of Ceremonies when my Husband and I married in Cairns; with many ex-PNG friends in attendance his Bilingual deliverance had everyone in fits of laughter, even though half of our guests didn't even speak Pidgin English!
May he have fair weather, rest in peace Sutts.

My favorite contact lens patient. I always enjoyed seeing you, you always had a wonderfully positive view on life. Truly a ray of sunshine whenever you came into the shop.
